Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his distinctive style. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as in the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine is a name that she has given her was Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta, she originates out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing as well as playing the piano at church. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. In 2005 she was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls which was a stage production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine came to national interest during four consecutive performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
